Rix Wiki pilot scheme

The Local NHS (Clinical Commissioning Group) and Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) councils are working together on a 12 month pilot study.

The pilot study is looking at the use of Rix Wiki’s with children and young people aged 0-25 years, and their families/carers in one of the following groups:

  • Children and young people who have a diagnosis of autism and/or a learning disability
  • Children and young people who receive a personal health budget through continuing care

What is a Rix Wiki?

Rix Wiki’s were created by Rix Research & Media and University of East London.  Rix Wiki’s are simple accessible, secure and easy to build personal websites. Rix Wiki’s offer an easy way to communicate and share information using a computer, tablet or smartphone. They are easy to update, secure and password protected. The family (license holder) is in control of who has access to the information on the Wiki and can then invite professionals of their choosing to view the Rix Wiki.

Rix Wiki’s offer a method for children with complex needs to explain some of those complexities in their own way, to record their needs and just do it once.

Rix Wiki’s can capture your voice and they allow you to share your stories, preferences and goals with the key people in your life.

Rix Wiki’s enable you to tell your story once, and consistently, though pictures, videos and text.

How to apply for a Rix Wiki
