SEND Transformation Plan - Engagement
Leicester City Council asked for responses to help to develop a plan to transform services for children and young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities and their families which builds on the SEND Strategy from 2019.
Purpose
We want to provide children and young people with SEND in Leicester City with the support and opportunities they need to have better lives which ‘enables children and young people with SEND to learn, thrive and achieve.’ There are four proposed strategic aims with potential priorities to focus the work over the next 3 years.
Parents / carers, children and young people, and professionals were invited to give their views on how current services are delivered, how they can be improved, and how we can work together to ensure children, young people and their families are actively involved in service planning and developments.
Engagement with children, young people, their families and wider stakeholders took place between 4 January and 14 February 2021.
