There are a lot of different childcare arrangements on offer which you can mix and match to suit your daily schedule, working hours, study or training.

Registered childcare
The following services must be registered with Ofsted if they look after children up to the age of eight for more than 2 hours a day for pay or reward.

- School based nurseries
- Pre-school playgroups

Non-registered childcare
The following do not have to register but they may choose to go on the Ofsted Voluntary Childcare Register.
- Home based childcarer
- Nannies, babysitters and au-pairs
